Position Title: IT Administrator        

Position Summary:     

The IT Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of all IT Services for the Islamic Foundation including Servers, Computers, Networks, Printers, Phone System, E-Mail, Voice Mail, Overhead Paging, Digital Signage, Data and Network Security, Telepresence & Video Conferencing, Video Surveillance, and Video Distribution Systems. 

Individual is responsible for planning, designing and implementing projects related to the above-mentioned IT Services; assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, IT hardware/software purchases, system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving; maintains documentation on all the IT Services at the Foundation.  

This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling board of trustees, administrative staff, teachers, and volunteers of Islamic Foundation (Mosque, Full-time School and Weekend Schools). He/She will also be responsible for routine account management tasks, including setting up and maintaining new and existing users, as well as troubleshooting any related issues. Security awareness is crucial and must be a consideration in every aspect of this position.

Reports to: Chairman of Communications and Technology Committee                       

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Islamic Foundation Local Area Network (LAN) Infrastructure (Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco Access Points, and Cisco Firewall.
  • Manage and maintain all the Islamic Foundation Servers (Domain Controllers, Admin Plus Server, Accounting Server, Print Server, Backup System, etc.). In addition, ensure all the proper functioning of all business applications
  • Manage and maintain the Cloud based E-Mail System (Office 365 Admin role)
  • Manage and maintain the Phone system (Cisco Call Managers, Cisco Unity Voice Mail, Phones, PSTN Gateways, etc.)
  • Manage and maintain the Overhead Paging System (Informacast Server, Speakers, etc.)
  • Manage and maintain the TelePresence & Video Conferencing System (VCS Server and Video Endpoints)
  • Manage and maintain the Digital Signage Systems (Cisco DMM Server, DMP’s, Displays). In addition, post and update content.
  • Manage and maintain all computers (Desktop Systems, Laptops, iMac’s, etc.)
  • Provide the necessary end-user support to the users including the Board of Trustees, Administrative Staff, Teachers, Volunteers for Full-time and Weekend Schools
  • Plan and implement new IT projects (expansion and new functions).
  • Document all the IT Services (Network Schematics, System Configs, IP Addressing Scheme, Internal Phone Book, Security Information, Telecom data, etc.)
  • Provide Weekly updates to the Islamic Foundation Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
    • Install, configure, maintain, and support existing and new network components
    • Troubleshoot Windows OS/including Win7, Win10x64bit.
    • Assist teachers and management with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Control user access to the network, including permissions, access rights, and privileges
    • Setup and support Office 365, Outlook, and Windows Server 2008/2012R2
    • Maintain and Manage Active Directory accounts and Group policy for users and administrators.
    • Informa-cast Single Wire (IP based Speakers) paging system/school.
    • Manage Windows based Print server for secure Printing through Canon and Ricoh.
    • Manage group policy for File Server for users and administration.
    • Manage and Configure Cisco switches and VLANs.
    • Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Unity.
    • Setup and support FTP, VPN, and Remote Access accounts
    • Manage and configuration and monitoring of FTP, VPN(AnyConnect), and Remote Access services.
    • Assist with accounting system and verify share drives are up and Accounting software is working as per needs.
    • Assist with the configuration and development of monitoring systems and scripts
    • Assist with the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources
    • Maintain documentation of current network design and configuration
    • Experience with Cloud Based inventory system.
    • Stay up to date with network security threats, best practices, and audit requirements

  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
  • Five plus years of System and Network administration experience.
  • Cisco and Microsoft Certification would be a plus
  • Experience with Office 365 and Windows Active Directory administration, VMWare ESXi-5 or above.
    • Network and Network Security certificates e.g; CCNA, CCNP, CCNP Voice
    • Experience with camera systems/security access systems

Working Hours:

  • The IT Administrator has the following work schedule
  • Monday-Thursday: 8 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 8 am to 3 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10 am to 11 am (as needed)

Physical Demands:

  • Extensive use of computer and keyboard and viewing of computer screen is required;
  • Sometimes lift 20 to 30lbs of hardware.
  • Long periods of sitting required
  • Regular use of VOIP phone system for phone calls


Position Title: Imam

Position Summary:

The Islamic Foundation is seeking a dynamic Imam to lead and organize activities related with daily prayers and the listening and recitation of the Quran.  The successful candidate will be an inspiring and motivating professional who will integrate with the community to drive love for the Quran and spirituality in connection with prayer services.

Reports To: Chair of the Religious Affairs Committee

Essential Responsibilities:

The Imam will work collaboratively with the Religious Affairs Committee of Islamic Foundation to:

  • Organize and lead five daily prayers and any other special prayers as required (eg. Janazah)
  • Lead Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan.
  • Serve as back-up for other prayers and sermons (e.g. Jumu’ah, Eid, etc.)
  • Conduct and organize classes periodically to teach community members the merits and fiqh of wudu, adhan, and salat.
  • Conduct and organize classes to teach the rendering of adhan in methods congruent with classical Sunni Islamic practices.
  • Conduct and organize classes to teach and help in memorization of common supplications (du’a) recommended in the Sunnah on a daily basis.
  • Lead and organize forums to render the Qirat of the Quran in an effort to raise the spiritual connection of the community with the Quran.
  • Conduct and organize classes to teach the art and rendering of Nasheed to community members.
  • Serve as back-up to perform marriages according to the Islamic, local state, and federal rules.


  • Male practicing Sunni Muslim adhering to one of the four schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi, or Hanbali).
  • Must be a Hafiz of the Quran.
  • Must be willing to reside within close proximity to the Islamic Foundation.
  • Demonstrated qualification in Qirat and Ijazah or Sanad from an accredited institution
  • Have at least 3 years of experience as an Imam or a teacher in a mosque within the U.S.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of Islam including aqeeda, comparative Fiqh, Seerah and Islamic history.
  • Demonstrated ability in integrating with a diverse community spanning various schools of thoughts, ethnic cultures, and socio-economic sectors in an honest, upright and open manner which encourages mutual cooperation and tolerance.
  • Proven ability to conduct regular and frequent Islamic classes’ for men, women, youth and children.
  • Strong communication skills:  ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or Urdu a plus
    • Reliable and dedicated individual with sound Islamic etiquettes.
    • College degree preferred
    • Collaborative and works well in a team oriented atmosphere
